Take The Journey This Spring!

Hi all,

This is Jenova Chen from thatgamecompany. First of all I would like to thank you for your support during the closed beta for our upcoming game Journey. It was a great success!

For the past few months, we kept getting asked about Journey’s release date. Yes, we haven’t said anything about our release in a while mainly because we really couldn’t tell. And we don’t want to throw out a date that we are not sure about, and later disappoint our players.

Fortunately, the online beta went very well, and our continued playtests have given us great feedback on the work we have left to complete. While there is still a ton of care and polish needed, we can’t wait to finally deliver Journey, TGC’s take on an online adventure game.

Like all our games, Journey is an experiment. In the end, it’s what you think that matters. We are happy to announce Journey will be released Spring 2012, so you can experience the adventure for yourself.

It was originally touted for Fall 2011.
Really, really depressed now.
Spring is just too long.

I’m more excited about that cool incandescent scarf than anything else.
Ok, I’m lying, I’m excited about the whole thing! :D

Spring?
This would be the best early/late birthday present.
I don’t expect it to be released exactly on May 4th, I actually think the release will be in mid-April…
It’s always fun to try to predict dates, though! :D

awee and not even a demo or a public beta to pacify us till the release? I didn’t even get access to the beta even though I was one of the first to grab a copy of flower. hmm

I’m SO glad I have a PS3 now… Just too bad I missed out on the beta. It would have really made my entire life just to play it so much sooner than the actual release.
