Official thatgamecompany Store Now Open

Posted by on July 20th, 2012

It’s been a long time coming, and I’m glad to make the formal announcement today!

We currently don’t have licensing from Sony to sell flOw, Flower, and Journey merchandise, but for now you can buy official thatgamecompany merch for the first time!  We’ll add more products as time goes by, so keep an eye out on the store or our Facebook and Twitter pages, or our Forums, to see when we add more products.

We only have one product available at this time, but we are also including some awesome bonuses with every shirt order! (Click the “More” button to see the bonuses.)

The store is owned by thatgamecompany and operated by thatgamecompany’s Community Manager, Aaron Grommesh (the guy who wrote this post).

So, here’s our first shirt design and the early ordering bonuses:

For a limited time, all orders will get a set of flOw, Flower, and Journey cards (Journey card is signed), and five buttons.  After that period, the shirt orders will only receive some buttons.

I’m a huge fan of all your games but Journey is really special to me. I hope you consider putting out an art book. I loved all the tiny bits of sketches and such you showed in your videos. Loved it. thank you!

@Ohw:
Journey might be ported to the PS Vita in the future, but that’s completely up to Sony, and we won’t work on it.

really Loved journey, absolutely one of the best things I’ve experienced on PSN, but I have to say, I’m not digging the last couple of interviews you guys are putting out. I’ve supported all three of your titles on PSN, and yet, all I hear is tablet/mobile/facebook development talk. I get that this is an exciting space and all, but are you guys just completely dismissing your the fanbase you acquired on PSN? Facebook/Android/IOS gamers (no offense) are usually casual, and to be blunt, simply don’t appreciate titles like Journey or Flower. They aren’t dedicated gamers, so, all I can ask, is that you don’t forget us. I know for me personal I game with Playstation because they seem to be a company dedicated to innovative gaming, and pushing the envelope, would love if you came back to PSN from time to time and not go exclusive to tablets/mobile..

Really hope for the licensing, Journey white and red hoodies would be a massive catch. Also hope for original, yet random glyph insignias for an even deeper experience in relation to the game.
I encourage any chances you guys get for producing anymore games/art in the future.

Dear That Game Company, my name is Abel Quintero, I’m an independent composer/songwriter and own full copyrights of all my music, I compose in different genres and write in two different languages and, I recently composed a couple of tracks that I think are suited for video games, one is titled “Zombie Overture” it’s an instrumental scary and dark sounding about 2:00 minutes in length and can be adapted to a game, the other one is titled “Mystery Palace” also about 2:00 minutes in length more on the intriguing, mysterious side, all instrumentals . Can I submit them to you for review and possible games sync licensing, low fees. Thank you, regards, Abel

Hey guys just wanted to say your games are awesome.

Ever thought of porting Flower onto Vita, touchpad control would be awesome for it.

Same goes for flow with the touchscreen.

Just saw Flower for the first time at the American Museum of Art in the exhibit Art of Video Games and fell in love with it. Wish it wasn’t only on PS3 as we don’t have it, but hope you continue to make games of this sort and for other platforms. Thank you for your beautiful art.

@Ryanandkatesmom:
Thanks for playing and for being a fan!

@Stephen:
Sony owns Flower, so they would have to be the ones to port it to the Vita. We’re hard at work on our next game.

@Sam:
Doing so would be too close to Sony’s copyrights, so we can’t print any shirts like that until we get licensing.

@Abel:
Thanks for sharing, but Vince Diamante, who did the music for Cloud and Flower, is our internal sound guy, and will be providing all of the music for our current project.

sorry TGC but i think you are failing your mission to bring a newas said in your website
“Create timeless entertainment that make positive change to the human psyche worldwide”

if this is true why release only games for PS3?
why not hit other plataforms like PC and XBOX you could reach much more minds with this aproach, i really want to enjoy your games, all those look beautiful, but im very disapointed i cant.

@hoia:
Because if we hadn’t signed an exclusivity deal with Sony, there would be no thatgamecompany. They are the reason why we exist.
That doesn’t mean that our future games will be PS3 exclusive, though.

To everyone at the company – Thank you for creating Journey, and congratulations for strings of GOTY awards (and much deserved attention) that it is receiving. I am a huge fan of the game, and I hope that you guys keep up the great work!

Thank you so much for changing the way I see video games. I just finished Journey and wept for 20 minutes. As we all get older we experience the world in a different way. I find myself becoming more emotional and this inspiring work of art really brought the tears up. The more I tried to hold back, the more I wept. Best of luck with the Grammy.

Will this be made available on Mac?

Comment by: Amish Gramish

March 24th, 2013 at 1:56 am

@Ed:
Are you talking about Journey?
If so, Journey won’t be made available on the Mac because Sony funded the game in order for it to be exclusive to their platform(s).

If you’re talking about the store, it’s just a website, so you can use it on anything.

this game should be for pc

Comment by: Amish Gramish

April 9th, 2013 at 2:11 am

@Gariolo:
Journey was funded in order for it to be exclusive to Sony’s platforms, specifically the PlayStation 3, so there’s not much of a chance that it will be ported to anything else, and it will almost certainly never be available on the PC.

We might reopen the store in the future, but we don’t have any plans to do it currently.
