Hello Everyone,

It’s been a very busy summer in the studio as the team has continued to push forward on iterating design concepts, multiplayer dynamics and starting to add artistic and audio polish to the game.  The day has finally come for us to start sharing our next project to the world… and we do so with more than a few butterflies in our stomachs and plenty of joy.

Today, we announce our next game — Sky — a social adventure game that will be coming first to iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV. Details on additional platforms to follow.

[youtubevideo]

Sky has been a few years in the making.  After the release of Journey, so many fans wrote to tell us how much they enjoyed playing the game with their spouse, children or loved ones, and asked if we could create a game where they could play together.  We wanted as many people to love games, and so we were encouraged to explore this idea at thatgamecompany.  Which brings our games, for the first time, to mobile – a platform that many have access to, the world over.

It’s hard to explain the game, but a good place would be to say that Sky is a game specially created to be played, and shared, among loved ones and family.  If you can imagine the delight of visiting a theme park where lasting memories are made, we envision Sky will sometimes feel like that. We know many of our fans have questions about what we have been up to, and so alongside a gameplay teaser video and new artwork, we have included a conversation with Geoff Keighley to share more insight into our development process with you.

[youtubevideo]

As we work hard to deliver this game, we invite our fans to sign up for our newsletter where we will be sharing more information about Sky and developments within our studio. You can do that on our Sky page, linked here.

We are grateful for your support and we are excited to hear what you think. We look forward to meeting you above the clouds.

With much appreciation,

– the team at thatgamecompany

There’s been a lot of excitement and activity happening in the studio these past few months leading up to today’s announcement of our new game Sky. In preparation for more great things to come, we will be ramping up our activity across social media. This means we will be engaging you in more conversations across Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube leading up to and through the launch of our next title.

In the coming weeks you can look forward to learning more about the team and our processes and even get a few sneak peeks of Sky in special behind-the-scenes content across our social channels!

We are also looking to build up and streamline our FAQs and Community platforms as we get closer to launch. In preparation for that, we have archived our older blogs and forums and will make them accessible in coming months on our refreshed website.

For support on flOw, Flower, and Journey, we encourage fans to continue visiting the PlayStation forums where players gather to discuss our games: community.playstation.com

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we do our best to roll out our next experience to players new and old alike. We hope you’ll join us on social media to keep the conversations going, we look forward to hearing from you there!
